When I was in elementary school, I used to walk to school with Connie, Edith and Suzanne. Connie used to leave her house and walk to my house. Then the two of us used to walk together to Edith's place. Then all three of us, Connie, Edith and I, used to go to Suzanne's home. Then all four of us used to walk directly to school. We all used to have the same teacher, the same classroom.
I used to live on 9th Avenue, between Balboa and Anza. Connie used to live on Anza between 9th and 8th Avenues. Edith used to live on 10th Avenue between Balboa and Cabrillo. And Suzanne used to live on 10th or 11th Avenue between Cabrillo and Fulton.
For all of those "used to" actions that were past routines, we can also use "would".
When I was in elementary school, I would walk to school with Connie, Edith and Suzanne. Connie would leave her house and walk to my house. Then the two of us would walk together to Edith's place. Then all three of us, Connie, Edith and I, would go to Suzanne's home. Then all four of us would walk directly to school. We all used to have the same teacher, the same classroom.
