Present Continuous
This is used to talk about action in progress at the moment we use it.
This used for temporary actions.
Now, outside of my window, a horse is eating directly from the landscape.
He wasn't there earlier today. And in a few hours, someone will come and get him to lead him home. Right now, he is eating and eating and eating.
Now, I am living in Morelia.
This is temporary. Why? I was living in San Miguel de Allende from mid-January to early August 2022. I will probably not stay at my current address in Morelia for very long. Officially, I am a resident of Guadalajara, and I have been traveling since mid November 2021. Both of these are correct: (a) I am living in Morelia. (b) I live in Morelia. Sentence (a) implies that I lived elsewhere before Morelia and/or I will live somewhere else after Morelia.
Simple Present
This is used for characteristics that are independent of time.
Example: Lilianita works at a major private university.
Subject + verb + blah blah.
This is used for habitual actions and routine.
Example: Nely almost always calls me on Skype every Sunday.
Subject + frequency adverb + verb + blah blah + time phrase
This is also used for characteristics.
Oh, by the way. with the verb "to be", an adjective, a location or a noun follows.
Example:
Ricardo and Rocio are at home. (at home is a location)
I am not a man. (man is a noun)
He is Mexican. (Mexican is an adjective)
